On our way to Paris

We have arrived in Paris safely. The Ottawa-Montreal flight was very fast, spending more time on the tar mack than in the air. We then spent about 2 hours waiting for our Montreal-Paris flight to get on the plane and off we went. The flight had a few moments of turbulence causing some delay for dinner but not us :) Otherwise it was a pretty boring flight watching a couple of movies but neither of us getting much sleep.

Once we arrived at the Paris airport we got through customs within minutes and NO questions!? They just grabbed the passport, stamped it and sent us on our merry way. The luggage was even waiting for us, I don't know how they could have got it there that fast. We decided to suck it up and take a taxi into Paris as we were both too tired to really find our way for a shuttle or the Metro. The taxi driver was great and missed a couple of close calls. We couldn't believe the way the people on motorcycles would go speeding through the middle of 2 lanes along the dotted lines! Talk about a suicide mission only having inches between the handle bars and 2 transport trucks...thank goodness we didn't choose the motorcycle taxi option!! The funniest though was when our taxi driver needed to go on a one-way street the wrong way and just backed down it at mach speed! 65 Euros later, we have arrived....

  1. Everything from your quick exit through customs at the airport to your exciting taxi ride from airport to your destination brings back fond memories of Paris. Look out for those motorcyclist even when you are walking on the sidewalk - they will jump the curb and ride along beside you sometimes. Enjoy yourselves and keep up the blogging. Thanks for sharing your aventure.
